At $7995, this 2004 BMW is an extremely good deal for a luxury car. It’s lightly driven for a nine year old car. It has just 105,887 miles on it and interior appears clean.

Although luxury cars are thought to be ideal for the summer, this one is also ideal in the winter. It has an all wheel drive system. It comes with heated leather seats and Hill Descent Control, with helps drivers during steep and slippery situations.

This one would make for a nice second family car, car for a young professional, or even car for a student (it’s inexpensive enough).

New Car Test Drive:

This is the benchmark. The BMW 3 Series cars are the aspiration for every automaker building a sports sedan or smaller luxury sedan.

There's a good reason for that. The 3 Series is superb. Whether it's the standard 325i or the high-performance M3, they are driver's cars. Dynamically, each is outstanding: a highly refined machine that corners, accelerates, and stops swiftly. The 3 Series puts drivers in touch with the road instead of isolating them. Driving the sedan, coupe, convertible or sport wagon is a joy. They blend luxury and sport with high levels of quality, making living with them joyful as well. Their interiors are well equipped and comfortable.

Other automakers are envious of the 3 Series for another reason: It exemplifies consistency in product character and values. BMW's 3 Series cars have been the benchmark for entry luxury cars for some time, and we do not see this changing soon.

So we've seen out first drops of snow in Vermont this week. This is Vermont – they’ll be a lot more during the next couple months.

During the winter season, it’s nice to have a car with all wheel drive, a rugged exterior, cargo space (if you ski/snowboard), and/or heated seats.

INTRODUCTION: Ford's Ranger is one of the best compact pickups on the market. It's certainly the most popular. Responsive handling on the highway, impressive suspension performance off road and a comfortable ride everywhere make it a great choice as a light-duty truck.

The chassis was re-engineered two years ago and it really paid off. It handles rough dirt roads well, but what's really impressive is its handling and steering response on paved mountain roads.
This newest-generation Ranger boasts a rigid chassis, a new front suspension, a redesigned interior, improved engines, fresh styling and, on 4x4 models, a clever new four-wheel-drive system-elements that add up to a great truck.

WALK AROUND: “While pickup watchers are aware of the Ranger's new look, the most beneficial improvement comes from its new chassis. The front third of the frame features fully boxed side frame rails for a significant increase in torsional rigidity. (A rigid frame reduces unwanted vibration and allows the engineers to design a suspension that more precisely controls wheel movement for improved ride and handling.)”

DRIVING IMPRESSION: “The new Ranger does not drive like a traditional truck. Steering response and handling in transient maneuvers could almost be described in sports car terms. Winding over narrow mountain roads north of Los Angeles, we found the Ranger to be a vehicle that inspires confidence in the driver. Before long we were rounding curves with bravado usually reserved for sports sedans.”

SUMMARY: “The new Ranger may be the best compact pickup truck on the market. Its driving qualities leave the other trucks in the dust, yet it offers plenty of power and hauling capacity to get the work done.”
