EARTHY CAR OF THE WEEK: 2008 Black Jeep Wrangler

2008 Jeep Wrangler X, SUV, Black, 53087 mi, $18,900 http://bit.ly/rjSMOd 4WD, Automatic 4-spd, MPG = 15/19

The 4X4 Jeep Wrangler is one of the ideal vehicles for driving in rugged areas.

It is a perfect vehicle for many who live in Vermont –with its many rural surroundings and outdoor activities (skiing, hiking).

This Wrangler is a 2-door model, and is the most basic trim (X).  It’s not too big for a rugged vehicle – it’s just the right size for most people. You’ll also be comfortable – the 3rd generation Wrangler has slightly interior more room than the previous generations.

If you are an avid skier, consider this vehicle for the winter season.  Those who live in “rugged” areas – consider this for all season round.

EXPERT REVIEWS:
“Standard features on X models include a tilt steering wheel; vinyl upholstery; center console; split-folding rear seat; AM/FM/CD stereo; theft-deterrent system; skid plates to protect the transfer case and fuel tank; and P225/75R16 all-terrain tires on steel wheels.
“All 2008 Jeep Wranglers are powered by a 3.8-liter V-6 engine. In standard-length models it pumps out 202 hp at 5200 rpm and 237 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard and a 4-speed automatic transmission is optional. The Wrangler can be started in low range without depressing the clutch, thus providing enhanced rock-crawling capabilities, Jeep says.
“Few vehicles are better off road than a Jeep Wrangler The Wrangler is an icon and it can deliver inimitable fun.
“The current Jeep Wrangler two-door is a lot roomier inside than pre-2007 models, thanks to its increased width. The comfortable high-back front seats…offer 5.1 inches more shoulder room and 4.6 inches more hip room than previous-generation models. The removable rear seat provides 3.9 inches more shoulder room, 1.6 inches more hip room and 1 inch more leg room for each of the two passengers. There's also 2 more inches behind the rear seat, which folds to provide nearly twice the cargo capacity as before.
“The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most capable off-road vehicles available today. Its four-wheel drive system also offers all-weather security and its convertible body style offers open-air fun…You'll give up a lot of ride and handling prowess, as well as fuel mileage, but the Wrangler is fun.
